Hi. I’m Adrienne. I love food. I love learning about it. I love cooking it. I love eating it. But I also want it to nourish my body.
Today, what we (in America) consider a “healthy” diet, is actually missing a lot of stuff that our guts, brains and bodies really need. Stuff that, through the industrialization and commercialization of food into food products, has been lost in our diets. I believe that the key to our health is rediscovering a way of preparing and eating real, whole food. The Lost Food Project is my exploration of the missing pieces and parts of a truly healthy diet. I want to learn about and understand long forgotten food preservation techniques (like fermentation, curing, pickling), plus demystify and learn how to prepare and enjoy the whole animal, not just the muscle meat.
So. Here’s to thinking beyond the familiar steaks and wings, tasteless baby carrots and low-fat everything. *Cheers*
